(LANSING) – A Harrison man was sentenced on Friday on criminal sexual conduct charges committed against a relative.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says 69 year old Geral Whitney was sentenced to 20 to 30 years in prison in St. Joseph County Circuit Court. On May 16, Whitney was found guilty on one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct.
Whitney was charged in 2023 for sexually assaulting a relative 20 years ago.
The investigation and charging decisions in this case were conducted by the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office. Nessel says her office managed the prosecution at the Prosecutor’s request, that came in 2024.
