
(SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident.
Branch County Sheriff Fred Blankenship says deputies responded to the 200 block of Wheatfield Drive in Sherwood Township on a report of a stabbing. When they arrived, deputies found a man with stab wounds to his hands and arm.
Through their investigation, deputies determined that a 42 year old Battle Creek man was responsible for the assault. He was located at a residence on Chippewa Drive. A search warrant was executed leading to the collection of evidence related to the incident.
The suspect was arrested and is being held in the Branch County Jail on felony and misdemeanor charges.
The victim as initially treated at the scene by Life Care Ambulance, and later sought further treatment at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Assisting at the scene were the Union City and Battle Creek Police Departments.
