(LAGRANGE COUNTY)) – A Stroh man is facing charges following two separate incidents.
The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office arrested 50 year old Steven Ritchie Sunday as he allegedly tried to evade a traffic stop by driving through a yard on South County Road 1145 East before coming to a stop. He was initially charged with driving without a license.
While Ritchie was being taken to the LaGrange County Jail, deputies found he was in possession of multiple plastic baggies filled with suspected meth and one bag with what is believed to be marijuana.
Deputies say when they asked Ritchie about the drugs, he became violent, and a scuffle broke out. Officers used a taser to bring him under control. One of the jailers was treated and released from Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
Additional charges have been filed against Ritchie that include resisting law enforcement, battery to law enforcement and resisting with a motor vehicle.
