(MURRAY, KY) – Union City alum and Murray State head baseball coach Dan Skirka has a new contract. As reported by the West Kentucky Star, Skirka has been signed to a four year contract extension. He reportedly signed the new deal after he took the Racers to the College World Series for the first time in the 86 year history of the school’s baseball program. Skirka was named the NCAA Coach Of The Year, and was reportedly in the running for the Duke University baseball job. Terms of Skirka’s new deal were not released, but he is expected to be the highest paid coach in the Missouri Valley Conference.
