(LANSING) - Unemployment went down around Southwest Michigan during the month of April.
The Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget says St. Joseph County had a drop in their unemployment rate from 4.3% to 4.1%.
The largest decline in the area was in Cass County, that had a decrease in unemployment from 4.7% to 4%.
Branch County saw a slight drop in unemployment from 3.9% to 3.8% while Hillsdale County went from 4.8% to 4.4%.
Seventy-eight Michigan counties exhibited unemployment rate decreases during April, with a median reduction of 0.7%.
