(CHICAGO) – Residents of the St. Joseph County Watershed are invited to attend a special meeting next week.
FEMA along with local officials will be presenting a Flood Map Open House, to show the preliminary flood maps to help leaders and residents identify known flood risks and use that information to make decisions about future development and buying flood insurance.
Homeowners, renters, and business owners in the St. Joseph County Watershed are encouraged to attend and meet with experts one on one to view their own addresses on the new maps. They will also learn about their specific risk and ways to help prevent flood loss.
The open house will be on Monday, September 9 from 5 PM to 7 PM at the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce, 1116 North Main Street in Three Rivers.
