(LAGRANGE) – After several months of work, the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation is excited to announce completion of the long-anticipated re-branding.
In April 2022, the LaGrange County EDC began the process of a full re-brand with several new identity items including a new Mission and Vision, a new logo and re-imagined color scheme, along with the development of a completely new website. Their new brand launched Monday.
The LaGrange County EDC was created in 2009, as a nonprofit organization to undertake the task of business development in LaGrange County. The LaGrange EDC is working towards that same goal today with a Mission to encourage sustainable economic growth, opportunity and prosperity in LaGrange County.
The organization’s three main initiatives identified on their website are Entrepreneurship, Housing, and Talent/ Leadership Development. All three are pertinent to business retention/expansion and attraction, which is the goal of local economic development organizations throughout the country.
LaGrange EDC President and CEO Sherri Johnston says branding should represent an organization and their mission. Johnston says the EDC wanted an attractive brand that’s approachable and relatable, and that demonstrates how much LaGrange County and the EDC has to offer both site selectors and established business owners.
The new branding includes four key words: Convene, Develop, Cultivate and Succeed. They reflect the LaGrange EDC’s approach to business retention/expansion and attraction, as well as their approach to both economic and community development.
The new logo and color scheme used is also meant to be a reflection of LaGrange County and its communities: orange to represent vitality, creativity, and the workforce’s vibrant energy, and blue to represent our communities reliability and strength.
