(FORT WAYNE) – Sentence has been handed down to an Angola man for his involvement in two hit and run incidents in Fort Wayne.
Allen County Court officials say that 42 year old Zachariah Gruber was given a sentence of four years in jail on charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, failure to remain at the scene of an accident with bodily injury, leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving.
Gruber’s vehicle collided with a pick up, and then as he was driving away from that accident, he crashed into an SUV while running through a red light.
While he was talking with police, Gruber ran away from the second crash, leading an officer on a foot chase. The officer tore two bilateral tendons in the quadriceps in both legs. Other officers then pursued Gruber and captured him.
