(STURGIS) – What should be the role of the Sturgis Board of Education and their various committees?

That was a discussion item during Monday’s Board of Education study session.

Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert says having clear lanes and definitions for those various groups will make it easier for them to operate and be more effective.

Ebert says he has some recommendations for the Board to consider, starting with the Board’s role. LINKC.

Next, Ebert explains how he sees the committees operating. He says they could meet and decide specific matters relating to facilities or finances and then make a recommendation to the full Board, or just have the full Board discuss and decide matters.

No decision was made by the Board on what they would like to do.
