A group of local musicians will present an evening of music by Woody Guthrie at the Riviera Theatre and Bar in Three Rivers on Saturday, October 24 at 7:30pm. Proceeds will benefit The Huss Project, a community center owned and operated by Three Rivers nonprofit, *culture is not optional.
Show producer Mick Kolassa comments, "The music of Woody Guthrie is a reflection of America. He lived through and sang about this great nation, which he loved as much as we do." The program will include whimsical, historical, political and heartfelt tunes from the Guthrie songbook and the audience is welcome to sing along. Many of the messages are as pertinent today as when they were first performed over 80 years ago.
Musicians include renowned blues talent Mick Kolassa, Mike Siegel of the Moody Coyotes, Dennis Martin from the Smallmouth Band, Chip Fortune, Rob Vander Giessen-Reitsma (Huss Project Executive Director), vocalists Nathan Moore, Megan Fortune, Abby David, Liz Montgomery of LVNMUZIQ and Lisa Chilton.
