(WHITE PIGEON) - The White Pigeon varsity football team has canceled the remainder of their 2026 season.
In a posting on the White Pigeon Athletics Facebook page, Athletic Director Brooke Baechler and Superintendent Shelly McBride announced they made the difficult decision to transition their football program to a JV schedule for the remainder of the season.
Baechler and McBride say while this is not the direction they hoped to take, their focus is on building a stronger, more competitive program for the future and providing their student-athletes with opportunities to develop, compete and grow.
They say they are incredibly thankful to their players, coaches, parents and community for their continued support of White Pigeon football. They know how much this program means to the community and they remain committed to building Chiefs football for the future.
White Pigeon is 0-3 on the season and like many teams in the area, have low numbers in 2026.
