(STURGIS) - The Sturgis Board of Education was presented with a revised Strategic Plan during their meeting Monday afternoon.
The revisions were created during a Board retreat a few weeks ago.
Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert shared the revised plan. One of the changes was to the District's Beliefs.
The beliefs guide the decisions the Board makes and the work they do each day. The beliefs are: Every person matters; Every person deserves the opportunity to feel successful: Every person can learn; and Challenges are part of learning and help build perseverance and resilience.
The revision also includes five goals. Ebert says they are Academic Goal to improve student outcomes; Communication Goal to improve the timelines and accuracy of communications; Culture Goal to create an environment that supports the well being of students and staff; Operations Goal to improve and maintain the cleanliness, comfort and safety of the grounds and facilities; and Personnel Goal to attract, grow and retain quality staff.
Additionally, the District Leadership Team has been tasked with setting objectives that are timebound, measurable and aligned with goals.
The Board of Education will be asked to vote on the Strategic Plan during their meeting next week.
