(COLDWATER) - A road project will restrict access to the Branch County Courthouse.
This week the Branch County Commission agreed to suspend their board rules and formally approved a modified parking plan for the County Courthouse that will start on Tuesday, September 8. This is being done because of the City of Coldwater's plan to do a reconstruction plan on Hudson Street.
The plan would close access to the Branch County Courthouse from Hudson Street for approximately one month as crews will be replacing the storm sewer.
Under the plan the Branch County Commission approved, employees of the courthouse will be asked to park in the Roosevelt Lot across the street. This will free up parking in the main courthouse lot for visitors along with jurists. A golf cart will be available to get county employees across Pearl Street in case of muddy situations.
The only exit will be on the south side of the main parking lot onto Pearl Street.
The work will be part of a $2.89 infrastructure project.
