(ANGOLA) - Issues with NIPSCO need to be investigated according to U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman.

Stutzman, who represents Indiana's 3rd District in Washington, D.C., was a guest on our sister station WLKI 100.3 Tuesday afternoon. In addition to the problems with restoring services following the August 11 storm, NIPSCO customers saw an increase in their bills over the winter.

Stutzman says customers who opened their bills this last winter saw a delivery fee that doubled and increased the bills. Stutzman says he doesn't know that NIPSCO is building any new delivery infrastructure that should cost that much.

Stutzman says there's always issues with NIPSCO and they have to answer some tough questions.

NIPSCO customers pay a lot according to Stutzman. They are one of the most expensive utilities in Indiana, and there are others around that state that don't pay what NIPSCO customers pay. Stutzman says in their farming operation they had REMC for their irrigation system. He says the REMC system was cheaper than NIPSCO. (LISTEN ABOVE).

Stutzman says he applauds Governor Mike Braun for asking for the investigation into NIPSCO because they have to held accountable.
