(UNDATED) - St. Joseph County voters will be presented with a millage renewal request on Tuesday's Primary ballot.

The St. Joseph County Transportation Authority is seeking a renewal of their millage for a four-year period. The renewal amount is .33 of a mill, which if approved would generate $974,600 in the first year.

CTA Executive Director Marci Goodman says they utilize the funds to help keep ticket prices low for the people who use the service. She says without the millage, they would not be able to offer rides for $1.50 as the millage accounts for one-third of the CTA's funding. (LISTEN ABOVE).

CTA Board Member Lynn Page says last year, there were just over 14,000 local seniors and 15,000 riders with disabilities who used the CTA, which is why it's a huge assess to the St. Joseph County area.

Polls will be open on Tuesday from 7 AM until 8 PM.
