(EAST LANSING) - For the second straight year, the Mendon softball team has won the Division 4 State Championship, as the No. 1 Lady Hornets beat No. 9 Brown City 6-2. Mendon scored first on the day with two runs in the first inning, two more in the second inning and then two more in the fourth inning. Rowan Allen went the distance in the pitching circle, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs with 14 strikeouts. (LISTEN ABOVE). Allen also had 2 RBI on the day. Cienna Nightingale, Sabrina Monroy, LaShell Blair and Taya Bingaman each drove in a run in the win. Brown City finishes the 2026 season at 26-12. Mendon ends the year at 32-3.
