(CENTREVILLE) - The suspect arrested following a vehicle versus buggy crash in Burr Oak Township has been arraigned.

St. Joseph County District Court officials say 54 year old David Parshall of Burr Oak was arraigned on three charges of operating under the influence of liquor and possession of methamphetamine.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office was called out to Maystead Road near Needham Road June 5 at 8:16 PM. Deputies determined that Parshall was driving east on Maystead Road and struck the rear of an eastbound horse and buggy. All four occupants of the buggy were ejected.

Three of the four occupants of the buggy sustained serious injuries and were transported by helicopters to area hospitals. One of the individuals injured was a pregnant woman who is still in critical condition. Two young children involved in the crash are in stable condition.

Parshall's bond was set at $15,000. He is scheduled to have a pre-trial conference on June 23 and a preliminary examination on June 30.
