(BRONSON) - Bronson has their budget for Fiscal Year 2027.
During Monday's meeting the Bronson City Council held a public hearing on the proposed budget. No one from the audience spoke.
Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman shared with the Council and the audience what the millage rates would be for the new budget. He said the millage rate for 2027 was rolled back to 14.388 mills, which is down from 14.5368 in 2026. The fire protection millage remains at 1 mill and the bond levy on the Geo Bonds for the sewer system are at .6825 mills.
Next, Mersman goes over some of the estimated numbers for the new budget. He said the budget estimates that there will be $1.765 million in General Fund expenditures and there is the need to use $215,923 in fund balance. Mersman says some of the highlights in the budget will be using $75,000 for buildings, $4,000 to transfer to the cemetery and $85,000 for park improvements.
There will be $150,000 given to local street work and another $150,000 for major street work.
The Bronson City Council unanimously approved the budget.
