(NILES) - The season came to an end for the Sturgis and Three Rivers softball teams at their Division 2 District hosted by Niles. In the semifinals, Dowagiac beat Sturgis 15-0 while Three Rivers shut out Edwardsburg 2-0. Then in the District Finals, Dowagiac shut out Three Rivers 5-0. Gia Newberry got the win in game one for Three Rivers, throwing a complete game on 73 pitches with 3 hits given up and 6 strikeouts. Elizabeth Oestrike and Dani Glass had an RBI each for the Lady Wildcats on the day. Sturgis ends the season at 4-24 and Three Rivers at 27-11.
