(WHITE PIGEON) - White Pigeon High School is proud to announce the hiring of William Porter as its new Varsity Football Head Coach. Porter brings over two decades of coaching and teaching experience to the program, with a strong background in building competitive teams and developing student-athletes both on and off the field. Most recently, Porter has served as a varsity football assistant and World History teacher at Mishawaka Marian High School since 2022. Prior to that, he held multiple head coaching positions, including at Caston High School, Clay High School, South Vermillion High School, and Wabash High School, where he led programs and oversaw strength and conditioning development. His extensive experience as a head coach demonstrates his ability to build programs, lead coaching staffs, and mentor student-athletes. In addition to his coaching career, Porter has spent many years in the classroom as a social studies educator, teaching subjects such as U.S. History, World History, and Geography. He holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University, further strengthening his leadership and administrative background. White Pigeon Athletic Director Brooke McClure says Coach Porter brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of building strong, disciplined programs. She says what stood out most throughout the process was his passion for developing young men both on and off the field.
