(BRONSON) - The Bronson City Council had the chance to get some preliminary information on the fiscal year 2026-2027 budget this week.
During Monday's Council meeting, Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman shared that the budget projects $1,712,434.05 in general fund expenditures and has a projected deficit of $195,202.81.
Mersman then talks about how some of the general fund monies will be spent.
Mersman says from the general fund, $75,000 would be used for buildings; $4,000 would be transferred to the Cemetery Department; $22,000 go towards repairing the DPW salt barn; $25,000 would be put towards park improvements along with monies in the Major and Local Street Funds, which will each receive $150,000. Mersman says that $85,000 from the general fund would go to the Water Fund and Water Capital Improvement Fund for service line replacement. There would also be just over $125,000 for debt service for the 2025 lining and grouting bond.
The City Council will be presented with the 2026-2027 budget during a future meeting.
