(STURGIS) - Sturgis Mayor Frank Perez has made comments regarding the April 22 City Commission meeting.

Perez recently appeared on the 500 Grand podcast and was asked several questions, including about the meeting when Vice Mayor Jeff Mullins presented a motion to censure Perez, and a second motion to remove Perez as Mayor. Both failed to pass on 4-4 votes.

Perez shares what disappointed him the most about that night. Perez says bullying is a real thing like making accusations you can't back up. He says it's one thing to go into a meeting and be ridiculed. Perez says those who watched the video never saw him interrupt Mullins or Commissioner Aaron Miller from speaking. (LISTEN ABOVE).

Perez says he's not bothered by what happened during the April 22 meeting, but it's affecting his family. He says doing the right thing isn't always popular and his kids are seeing this. Perez says his daughter in high school and his son in junior high school have suffered emotional trauma that Aaron Miller and Jeff Mullins created by their comments and that is totally out of line.

Perez says the Commission must now focus on finding a new City Manager after Andrew Kuk announced his resignation April 22. He wonders though who may want to come to Sturgis with what's been happening.
