Sturgis girls 1st, boys 6th at Wolverine Conference Track Championship

(VICKSBURG) - Sturgis girls first and boys sixth at Wolverine Conference Track Championship hosted by Vicksburg, with the Sturgis girls named the 2026 Wolverine Conference Champions. For the girls, Berkley Holtz was first in the 1600 meters and the 3200 meters. Vivian Massey won the adaptive shot put and Sydney Bir was second in the 400 meters. Angela Cary finished second in the high jump and fifth in the long jump while Addison Eicher was third in the 200 meters. Kinder Smith was third in the 800 meters, Tessa Hatt was fourth in the 800 meters and Kimora Parker finished fourth in the shot put. Juliet Mendoza-Rangler finished second in the 300 meter hurdles and third in the 100 meter hurdles. The Lady Trojans 3200 meter relay team of Sydney Bir, Tessa Hatt, Kinder Smith and Berkley Holtz finished first and set a new school record and Wolverine Conference record in the event at 9:25.93. The 800 meter relay team of Addison Eicher, Angela Cary, Sydney Bir and Madelyn Oswald finished first and with a time of 1:46.42 and qualified for the State Meet. The 1600 meter relay team of Kinder Smith, Berkley Holtz, Sydney Bir and Olivia Green qualified for the State Meet with a first place time of 4:08.33. The Lady Trojans also won the other two relay events. In the boys events Gift Mugisha was first in the 100 meters adaptive and the shot put adaptive. Caleb Hohn was second in the 200 meters and Beckett Lamb was second in the long jump. The 400 meter relay team finished third.
