(CENTREVILLE) - The St. Joseph County ISD Board of Education will be interviewing three individuals for their Superintendent position.
The candidates are James Berry, Director of Career and Technical Education for the ISD; Spencer Byrd, Superintendent of Cheboygan Area Schools and Pamela Campbell a Middle School and High School math teacher at Covenant Christian School in Mishawaka, Indiana.
They were chosen out of a pool of eight candidates who submitted their information for consideration.
The interviews are scheduled to be held on March 16 at the ISD offices on Shimmel Road. Interview times will be 4 PM, 5:30 PM and 7 PM. The ISD Board has scheduled to have second round interviews on March 23 for any candidates they want to ask back.
The interviews are open to the public.
The person hired will replace Dr. Teresa Belote, who announced in November 2025 that she would retire at the end of the 2025-2026 school year. When she retires, Belote will have been in education just over 32 years, with the last 9.5 years as the ISD Superintendent.
