DETROIT (AP) -- East Lansing High School guard KJ Torbert was named Michigan's Mr. Basketball for 2026 on Monday and became the first son of a former winner in the 46-year history of the award. Kelvin Torbert was Mr. Basketball in 2001 while attending Flint Northwestern. The 6-foot-3 Torbert, who averages more than 25 points and six rebounds, signed to play for Bowling Green next season.
