(FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP) - The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office helped save a woman from an overdose.
Sheriff Chad Spence says on Friday, deputies responded to the 15,000 block of South Street in Flowerfield Township for a reported overdose. When they arrived, deputies administered Narcan and initiated CPR on a 47 year old woman. Thanks to their swift actions the woman was transported to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
Assisting at the scene were the Three Rivers Fire Department and the Schoolcraft Police Department.
Spence says deputies are equipped with the training and life-saving equipment necessary to respond to medical emergencies, including overdose situations. Their preparedness and rapid response played a critical role in stabilizing the patient until advanced medical care could be provided.
