(COLDWATER TOWNSHIP) - A two vehicle crash claimed the life of a Coldwater man.
Branch County Sheriff Fred Blankenship says at 12:45 PM Thursday, his deputies were called to a two vehicle crash on North Union City Road near Narrows Road in Coldwater Township.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a 60 year old Coldwater man was traveling south on an electric scooter and was struck by a passenger vehicle operated by an 89 year old Coldwater resident.
The Coldwater Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance arrived and performed life saving measures on the scooter driver, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle were not injured.
Blakenship says it's believed that prevailing weather conditions may have been a contributing factor in the collision, which remains under investigation.
