(BRONSON) - Two amendments have been approved on an ordinance allowing golf carts and UTV's on the streets of Bronson.

During Monday's City Council meeting, Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman shared that the changes came following feedback from the Council during their December meeting.

Mersman says the first amendment to the ordinance would allow for golf carts and UTV's to cross U.S. 12 at any intersection instead of at traffic signals, which is what the current ordinance states. The second amendment would allow operating hours to be from 5 AM until 11 PM. Currently they can be operated from one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset.

Councilman Larry McConn says he is against the amendments. He says the original ordinance was well thought out, but because a few people didn't like it, the City chose to amend it. McConn wondered what would be done if a really important ordinance was approved and ten people didn't like it, would the City change it to appease a few people. (LISTEN ABOVE).

The Council approved the amendments on a vote of 4-1, with McConn casting the lone No vote.
