(BURR OAK) – The No. 3 ranked Mendon softball team won their fifth straight Division 4 District title with an 18-1 win over Colon at the Burr Oak District. The Lady Hornets got to the championship game with a 20-2 win over White Pigeon, while Colon topped Athens 14-11. Jadyn Samson got the win for Mendon in the semifinals, going 3 inning and giving up 2 hits and 2 runs with 2 strikeouts. Ally Butler was the winner in the Finals, with 5 innings in the circle, giving up 6 hits with 4 strikeouts. At the plate, Rowan Allen and Elise Allen each had 6 RBI on the day. Mendon is now 27-2 and will face Gobles in the Regional semifinals on Saturday at Vermontville Maple Valley.
