(ANGOLA) – The Lakeland boys golf team won the NECC Invitational on Saturday at Zollner Golf Course with a score of 325. Fairfield was second (341), Fremont came in third (349), Westview was fourth (351), Angola fifth (359), Prairie Heights sixth (260), Central Noble seventh (378), followed by Garrett (385), Eastside (393), West Noble (398), and Churubusco (478). Lakeland’s Ben Keil (kyle) was medalist on the day with a low round of 68. Keil was named All Conference, as were his teammates Tommy Curtis (77) and Nate Keil (82). Also named All Conference are Silas Haarer and Wade Springer of Westview; Ashland Benner of Fremont who finished fifth (81) and teammate Zander Reetz who tied for sixth (82); Prairie Heights’ Braedon Morr who also tied for sixth (82); and Angola’s Mason Gruner who was 12th with a round of 84. Also named All Conference are Garrett’s Carter Demski and Carter Overbay; from Fairfield Miles Nine, Andrew Miller and Carter Kitson; AND Reece Myers from Eastside. Brayden Levitz and Noah Butler of Prairie Heights were named All Conference Honorable Mention, as were Gage Hankey and Ethan Plush of Angola; and Luke Campbell and Trevor Reetz of Fremont.
