(STURGIS) – A Monday night fire destroyed a building and it's contents on South Centreville Road.
Tri-Township Fire Chief Max Kulpinski says his department was called to Nissley Disposal just after 9 PM Monday. When they arrived, they found a structure behind the main building on fire. The Sturgis, Howe, Burr Oak and White Pigeon Fire Departments were called in to help battle the blaze.
The fire was eventually put out. Kulpinski says the east end of the building was used as a wash bay for Nissley's trucks, while the west end was used for storage, including some tractor tires. It is considered a total loss, along with two vehicles that were in the building at the time
of the fire.
Two more vehicles outside the building were destroyed while Kulpinski says two others were able to be moved.
No cause for the fire has been determined. Kulpinski says it does not look suspicious in origin.
