(COLDWATER) – Three people have been arrested and stolen vehicle recovered thanks to technology.
The Branch County Sheriff’s office says on Sunday, a license plate reader operated by the Coldwater Police Department identified a stolen vehicle out of Indiana. Local law enforcement initiated a coordinated search, with deputies ultimately locating the vehicle in a parking lot on Willowbrook Road.
To reduce the risk of a pursuit and ensure public safety, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot. The stolen vehicle was successfully recovered without incident.
Three individuals were taken into custody and lodged in the Branch County Jail. All are facing charges related to the possession of methamphetamine, with one additionally charged with possession of stolen property.
The Sheriff’s Office extends its appreciation to the Coldwater Police Department, and the Michigan State Police for their valuable assistance in this operation.
