(STURGIS) - A suspect is in custody after trying to break into a house.
The Sturgis Department of Public Safety Police Division was called to a residence in the 500 block of Susan Avenue at 6:29 PM on January 14 on a report of a disorderly subject armed with a chainsaw, attempting to gain access to a residence. As officers were arriving, the suspect got into a vehicle and left.
Officers were able to stop the vehicle and the suspect resisted arrest, and had to be removed from the vehicle.
The suspect was arrested on multiple felony charges, including operating while intoxicated.
The suspect was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail.
