(STURGIS) – Due to the forecasted cold temperatures over the next few days, the Sturgis Extreme Weather Center has been activated.
The Extreme Weather Center, which is located at 307 West Chicago Road in the lower level of the building, will be open Sunday night from 6 PM until 8 AM Monday.
In addition, the EWC will be open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6 PM until 8 AM each of those days.
The EWC is for overnight hours only and is open to assist people who have no place to go to get out of the below zero weather. There are places for people to relax, watch TV, play games, but not to sleep regularly.
After 8 AM each day, individuals would have to leave to go to the warming centers around Sturgis.
