(STURGIS) – It was another record setting day Thursday during the 2024 and 15th annual WBET Radiothon to benefit the St. Joseph County United Way.
Starting at 6 AM, new celebrity DJ teams were on the air every hour to raise money for the United Way. Then, just before 12 AM United Way Executive Director Kelly Hostetler announced the results of the day’s efforts. LINKC.
In the Corporate/Business category for Celebrity DJ’s, Morgan Olson was the top fund raiser with $40,473. Second was GT Independence with $26,930 and third was the City of Sturgis with $11,631.
In the Civic/Individual category for Celebrity DJ’s, the Sturgis Elks raised $38,229. The Campaign Co-Chairs of Erin and Adam Goff along with Joyce and Joe Haas finished second by raising $12,780 and the Colon Friends of Kathy Earl, Ivin Riddle and Mark Brinkert finished third with $3,959.
There was also an online silent auction with 347 items up for grabs.
Hostetler says all of the money raised stays in St. Joseph County.
