(STURGIS) – A new principal has been hired for Eastwood Elementary School.
Monday night the Sturgis Board of Education was presented with a recommendation to hire Christine Welc as the principal. Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert shared with the Board the process that lead to Welc being presented for consideration. LINKC.
Ebert says the field of six was narrowed down to three for second round interviews. From the three, Welc was the candidate that was agreed to be recommended to the Board of Education.
Welc is currently the Principal, Dean and a teacher at Paramount Charter Academy in Kalamazoo. She has also taught in the Detroit and Richmond Michigan areas.
The Board voted unanimously to hire Welc, who says she is ready to get going. LINKD.
Welc is taking over for Mike Miller, who was hired to be the new Principal of Bronson Jr/Sr. High School.
