(COLDWATER TOWNSHIP) – One person is dead in a one vehicle crash Friday night in Branch County’s Coldwater Township.
Michigan State Police from the Marshall Post say a 48 year old Coldwater man was driving south on Michigan Road, just north of State Road at 10:17 PM Friday when he left the roadway. His pickup struck a tree and a fire broke out.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
It’s not known what caused the driver to leave the road, but alcohol is believed to be a factor. It’s also not known if the driver was wearing a seatbelt or not.
The crash is still under investigation.
