(UNDATED) – A member of the Michigan House of Representatives is looking to sit on the State’s highest court.
In a media release, State Representative Andrew Fink has announced that he will run for the Michigan Supreme Court in 2024, once his current term in the Michigan House comes to an end.
Fink is a graduate of Hillsdale College in the Class of 2006, where he earned a Bachelor Of Arts in Political Science. He earned a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 2010.
Before he was elected to the Michigan House, Fink was an officer in the United States Marine Corps from 2009 to 2016.
Fink was first elected in 2020 to serve in the Michigan House of Representatives, and was re-elected in 2022.
In the release, Fink says he is an originalist, believing that judges should interpret laws as they are written, and to not put their personal agendas into a case. Fink says if elected, one of his priorities as a justice will be to restore faith in government institutions by putting an emphasis on transparency, accountability and integrity in Michigan’s court system.
