(STURGIS) – The Sturgis Area Chamber Of Commerce has received some money that will be used for Sturgis Fest 2023.
The Sturgis Area Community Foundation, accompanied by Youth Advisory Council President Claire Holtz and Vice President Jane Toner, recently presented a $4,500 check to the Chamber. The funds will be used to help with the Sturgis Fest Family Night rides.
Chamber Executive Director Kari Hatt says their plan is to offer free amusement rides to all community members, and this money is the first step to
achieving that goal.
YAC exists to practice youth philanthropy. The YAC Board accepts grant applications for youth based projects and programs, and then conducts interviews with the individuals or organizations that submitted the applications. The YAC Board then votes to award grants to the applicants.
In addition, YAC members donate their time doing community service projects around the Sturgis area. YAC has a history of volunteering at Sturgis Fest each year and looks forward to doing it again in 2023.
