(CALVIN TOWNSHIP) – Two people were injured in a two vehicle crash in Cass County’s Calvin Township.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Department was called out just after 7 AM Wednesday to Paradise Lake Road near Jeffries Street. 45 year old Timothy Curtis of Cassopolis told deputies he had a crack in his windshield. When he entered a curve on Paradise Lake Road, he was not able to see because the sun distorted
sis vision due to the cracked windshield.
Curtis crossed over the center line and struck a vehicle head on, driven by 38 year old Stephanie Knepple of Vandalia.
Knepple was taken to an Elkhart Hospital by a private vehicle to be treated
for her injuries.
Curtis was not injured, but a passenger in his vehicle, 39 year old Nicole Smith of Cassopolis was taken to Elkhart General Hospital by Pride Care Ambulance to be treated for the injuries she sustained.
Everyone was wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
The Penn Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
