(COLDWATER) – A Coldwater man was given five years probation after authorities found him to be in possession of sexually explicit pictures of children.
Branch County Circuit Court officials say 35 year old Robert Sloan must also register as a sex offender with the State of Michigan as part of his sentence. Sloan told the court that he was guilty of two counts of being in possession of child sexually abusive material. The Branch County Prosecutor’s Office dismissed four counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and a charge of using a computer to commit a crime.
Michigan State Police started their investigation in July of 2021. They were able to get a search warrant for Sloan’s home, where they found and removed several electronic device. Detectives say they found 250 sexually explicit pictures involving young children on Sloan’s phone, computer and hard drive.
