(COLON) – An investigation will be conducted into the possible misuse of funds by Colon Schools Superintendent Penny Brockway.
During a special meeting Monday night, the Colon Board of Education voted unanimously to have the investigation. Board President Deborah Bordner shares the motion for the audience to hear. LINKC.
The motion was made after a closed session was held by the Board. Prior to the closed session, the Board heard comments from members of the audience. One of them was Debbie Davis, who brought information to the Board of the potential misconduct by Brockway.
During a previous Board of Education meeting, Davis shared that she found information that Brockway signed three contracts with Dr. Grant Chandler, a former Professional Development Leader. Davis alleges that Brockway signed these contracts over the last three school years without properly going through the purchasing procedures, and never discussed the contracts with the Board of Education.
