(UNION CITY) – After visiting Bronson Saturday afternoon, Santa Claus will be stopping by Union City Saturday evening.
The town will host their annual Union City Santa Parade at 7 PM. The event is sponsored by the Union City Chamber Of Commerce.
Parade participants can start getting in line at 6 PM at Robbins Auto. This is for vehicles, tractors, horse drawn entries, floats, or other wheeled entries. For those walking in the parade, they are being asked to join in from the new Union City Senior Center, and should be in place by 7 PM. The walkers will enter the parade rout after the Union City Police Department
escort.
The parade will continue through downtown Union City and will end at High Street.
Immediately following the parade, Santa will be at the corner of Broadway and Hammond Streets, under the Dome, to visit with children and their families. Kids can get their picture taken with Santa and the snapshot will be posted on a bulletin board in the lobby at the Southern Michigan Bank and Trust office in Union City for pick up at the end of the following week.
The Union City Chamber of Commerce is encouraging parade participants to put safety first, especially as this parade commences after dark. Parents are asked to keep a close eye on their children and keep them near to the curb and out of the street.
If you are going to watch the parade, please don't park downtown after 6 PM. Traffic cones will be placed downtown and citizens are asked to please respect these boundaries.
