(COLDWATER) – Charges have been brought against a Sherwood man after an alleged incident with two young girls.
Branch County District Court officials say 53 year old Daniel Collins was arrested and charged with two counts of second degree criminal sexual conduct after an investigation by the Branch County Sheriff's Department. Deputies say the alleged incident that took place March 21 in Sherwood Township and involved two girls under the age of 13.
Court officials say Collins waived formal reading of the charges and entered not guilty pleas. Bond was set at $30,000. If he is able to post bond, Collins is not allowed to have any contact with the alleged victims, plus he is not to have any unsupervised contact with a minor child.
A probable cause hearing is scheduled for September 30 with a preliminary hearing set for October 7.
