(STURGIS) – A Sturgis Public Schools teacher is concerned about staff leaving the school district.
During Tuesday's Sturgis Board of Education meeting, Sturgis High School teacher Allen Meyer shared that he has been with the school district for just over seven years and hopes to be in Sturgis for many more. While he realizes that people do move on to other jobs, Meyer says he's worried about the exodus he's seen recently. LINKC.
Meyer says some of the staff that has left Sturgis Schools in the last few months were those with many years of experience. LINKD.
Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert says that while people may leave for various reasons, he would like to explore this more and see if there is something Sturgis Schools could do differently or better to retain staff.
