(ANGOLA) – The Angola Common Council finalized a rezoning for a retirement community during their meeting this week.
The Angola Common Council approved the final reading to rezone a property from single family residential or R2, to a high-density multiple family residential district of R5. The property is located from Westview Drive onto both Meyers and Koehlinger Streets to make way for the development of a single level senior living community.
The rezoning approval was delayed waiting for a written commitment from the developer that there would only be a single level retirement community built on the land.
Wastewater Superintendent Craig Williams reported a continuation in testing the wastewater supply for COVID-19 that has been taking place since March. The testing will continue for another 12 weeks and will now branch out to the collection system that services the MSD and Trine University.
The testing will occur three days a week and may be able to identify an outbreak before it is identified by the health care system. The Indiana Finance Authority helped identify the testing as eligible for funding from the Coronavirus Relief Act.
