Davis Prehearing Conference Rescheduled Again
Thursday, June 5, 2025

(UNDATED) – A prehearing conference to discuss matters pertaining to St. Joseph County Prosecutor Deborah Davis has been rescheduled for a second time.

Michael Goetz, the Grievance Administrator for the State of Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission spoke with Swick Broadcasting and said the prehearing conference scheduled for Thursday at 10 AM was adjourned. No reason was given for the adjournment, and the matter has not yet been set for a new date.

The Thursday conference was rescheduled from March 24, after Davis at that time told the Attorney Discipline Board that she had not been able to retain counsel. Davis told the Discipline Board that there had also been back and forth with insurance and professional liability policies, along with her witness list growing, which is why she asked for the matter to be rescheduled.

It’s alleged that Davis, who was a St. Joseph County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney at the time, lied and or made false, evasive and misleading statements to District Court Judge Jeffrey Middleton at least 8 times during a hearing on January 15, 2024.

Then St. Joseph County Prosecutor David Marvin conducted an investigation into the matter. His conclusion of the investigation led to Davis being fired from the Prosecutor’s Office on January 25.
