(STURGIS) – The City of Sturgis is doing well financially.
The annual audit presentation was given to the Sturgis City Commission during their meeting last week. Joe Verlin of Gabridge & Company started off by giving the City some very good news. LINKC.
A clean opinion is the highest opinion that can be given.
Verlin also shared that the City’s fund balance is in good shape. LINKD.
Verlin says the total unassigned fund balance for the Sturgis general fund is just over $4 million. That is all funds that are not earmarked. He says if that is divided by the City’s annual general fund expenditures and transfers out, it’s at 36% funding as of September 30, 2024, which is a healthy place to be.
