Sturgis drops home game to Three Rivers
(STURGIS) – Three Rivers scored first and went on to beat host Sturgis 21-6 in their Wolverine Conference football game. Sturgis outgained the Wildcats 316 to 265, but could only muster one touchdown, coming on a 31 yard run for quarterback Brady Webb. LINKC.
On the night, Webb had 17 carries for 131 yards, plus went 9 of 13 for 103 yards and an interception. Riley Cain had 5 receptions for 57 yards and led the defense with 8 tackles. Blake Burkey and Justin Burghduff each had 5 tackles for Sturgis. Three Rivers' Devon Gidley was 4 of 5 for 27 yards and a touchdown. He also had 2 carries for 6 yards and a score. Parker Ellifritz rushed 14 times for 91 yards for the Wildcats and was also 1 for 1 for 46 yards. Dominick Homan had 11 tackles for Three Rivers while Carter Minger, Scott Schrader and Ben Wilcox each had 6 tackles. Sturgis is now 1-3 overall and in the Wolverine Conference while Three Rivers improves to 1-3 overall and in the conference standings.
