(UNDATED) – The first real dose of winter weather could be coming our way this weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Michigan and Indiana Counties of our listening area from 10 PM Friday until 10 PM Saturday.
Forecasters are calling for the possibility of heavy snow with gusty winds and significant blowing and drifting. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are expected in and around the listening area.
In addition to the snow and windy conditions, temperatures Saturday night could drop as low as 6 degrees. Sunday's high will reach into the low teens and then Sunday night lows are projected to be 5 below zero.
If you have animals that are outside, make sure they have shelter, fresh food and fresh water.
